Hi everyone,

I see lots of great info about Crappie fishing, but pike folks are quiet. Anyone chasing them?

I went out in the afternoon on Friday and Saturday, beautiful weather.
Bite was slow until late afternoon when it picked up.

There was not too many fish willing to bite, but size was definitely there. There was tons of small perch in shallow water and pike seems to be following them.

Jerkbaits worked for me, but on the other side, this is pretty much all I use this time of year.

all the best,
Peja

Thanks for the report ,Peja !
Congrats on the pike opener !
Great looking fish , well done !

I am also one of the few ones here who is chasing them this time of year .

Friends been out yesterday and have caught lotsa pike but they were on a smaller lake and the size was therefore on a smaller to average side .

I am leaving home for pike soon

And yes , jerkbaits rule this time and any time of year for pike

Were you on Balsam?
I don’t have a boat in the water yet, hopefully in a week or so.

Nice fish. I'll be out for pike soon, but haven't fished for them in the Kawarthas.

Nice pike , congrats!

We have been hitting Balsam with success as well.

Three trips already to balsam for pike this year for me so I am anxious to switch the lake and cannot wait for the walleye opener.
