With the closure of True North at Yonge and Gilford Rd. I launch at Cooks Marina and am looking for a convenient place to buy live minnows on route. I am coming from Kitchener and usually take the 407 and 400 and occasionally take back roads through Orangeville to 400. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

I thought Ron said he will remain open until the end of May, but just on weekends. (I'm not sure if that was the store on Yonge, or the one in Barrie.)

There also used to be a store right on Killarney Bch Road (north side) as you were going into Lefroy that sold minnows. It was a convenience store. I'm not sure if they're still there as I haven't been down that way for some time.

Then on your way to the lake, you will get off Hwy 400 at Rutherford where "True Canadian Outdoors" in Vaughan is located and where you can get minnows (It is located in a plaza just north of Bass Pro Shops)

Cooks bay marina sold minnows in the winter. Not sure if that was seasonal or not. Give them a call.

I wonder what is going to happen if you no longer have a bait store in the zone you want to fish?

I may be wrong, but you can only trap your own minnows in the zone where you live. Does that sound correct?

So I guess I, as Shank said would be sol as I do not fish in the zone I live......now I do have a trailer in a trailer Park in the zone I fish and I live there three to four days a week in the summer.....I guess I need to clarify that with the ministry to see if I am legal to catch bait there.
