I wish someone would be bold enough to actually ask for the fishing honey holes Joking aside , all I can suggest is search for them shallow this year now . The Spring has been brutal cold but with the warming trend they should be willing to bite . Since the water is very clear right now and if the day is sunny I bet the best bite would be at night .

I agree with JB on the night fishing. I am like the walleye and do not like the sun, so the night works out perfect for me. 90% of my fishing is at night, for both walleye and crappie as well as bass. On Saturday the sun goes down at 8.30pm so start your search at 6.30pm and don't forget the flash lights and a jacket. If you are fishing during the day on Saturday the north wind should create a perfect walleye day on the boat. There will be some walleye waves if you fish the line from Fenelon Falls to Lindsay. Try and keep the boat in 10 to 12 feet of water and cast to where it comes shallow around 4 to 6 to 8 feet. Find the humps on the chart and the old weed beds and you will find the walleye. JB prefers the jerkbaits obviously with his great success walleye fishing. Crank baits and jigs are my choice. The walleye will be very aggressive on Saturday during the day and night. Good luck and stay safe to anyone going out at night. Or the day, LOL.

So how good a walleye fishery is Sturgeon? I’ve never had much luck there but never fished it at night either.
There is a reason I only fish Sturgeon and Balsam for walleye. The fish are healthy and plentiful and those two lakes have always been very kind to me. All the Kawartha lakes are doing well for walleye. My friends fish all of them. Sturgeon is just 5 minutes from the family home to the launch or a friend's dock. Guess that is why I end up there the most. Good luck to everyone on the walleye season. Stay safe.
