How do you mount panoptix transducer for trolling reelingthebigone? Do you still use a pole or you put a fixed mount on a transom? Do you use a forward mode or down? I am just learning AT2, its been really good for wf/laker jigging up north, up to 65 ft down was able to see 7g and even 4g vibrado, havent tried deeper. There is a lag and I use it in conjunction with a flasher.

Good question. I'm making a video showing the complete install, but that'll be after fishing season when I have more time to edit it and put it together.
But the trick is to "flip" it 90 degrees by using the PS31 mount or the aftermarket Rytek mount. It is mounted on the transom.
That gives you 120 degrees from bow to stern and 60 degrees port to starboard.
Doing this, you lose the 3D-aspect of the Pantopix because now it's all mixed up, but you can see your trolling spread. I'll put together a short video showing it and watching the fish check out my riggers.

If I understand correctly flipping transducer 90 degrees in panoptix is the same as switching to a scout mode in active target. I am going to try and position pole over the transom corner and see what happens. Looking forward to your video, they are quite good.

I've seriously considered buying the ps30 so hearing how well it works or doesn't is helpful. I sharp shoot small lakers mostly with small jigs 4g vibrado, 1/8-1/4 oz tubes 2.5 inch. I like ps30 wide angles but need to clearly see small lures at 70-100 fow. Decent bottom separation ~20 inches would be nice too. I currently use an old lvs12 transom mounted which works great up to around 40 fow. I can sort of see lures at 70 fow but it's not clear at all.

Are you on or near Simcoe? I'm bringing my boat back to Simcoe for a week or so to hit up lakers to take a bit of a break from salmon fishing on Lake O. I'd be happy to have you come out on my boat and play around with it.
I don't have a slip at Friday Habour anymore, so I'd be day launching around 6am at Barrie launch. Could do 7-8am even if you want.
I'm currently getting up at 2:45am every morning for salmon fishing, so I'm on morning time so anything works really.
