I'm looking to install a deck across the two front row of seats in my boat so that it has a casting platform so I'm looking to purchase some Marine Grade plywood. Does anyone know a specific store that stocks this product? I tried googling it, but I'm having problems finding it. I live in the Georgetown area, but I realize I probably need to drive up to Barrie just because of the connection to Lake Simcoe and there being a higher probability of someone in that area having it. Obviously the closer the better, but I'll take any suggestions that people may have to offer.

Also, for anyone who has done this type of project before, what thickness is recommended to be used when building the deck? Thanks!

Fairbank Lumber at Keele and Steeles. They have 4 x 8 3/4” roughly $150 a sheet.

I've picked up Marine grade plywood from Home Depot in the past... Do they not carry it anymore?

Home Hardware in Fergus carries it, as does RONA in guelph.
Stuffs not cheap.

Ontario Plastics can get you whatever you need. They typically have a ton of it in whatever thickness you need. Give em a call.

I used standard PT 3/4” plywood. So far so good. I will be painting/sealing it this year, but so far holding up great.

Home depot had it when I built mine. It might be called something else there, but same thing.

What is the difference between marine plywood and pressure treated plywood?

Marine Plywood vs Pressure Treated Plywood – LBI Fiberglass ...
Marine plywood is specifically manufactured to stand up to the harsh marine environment. The materials used in in its construction are specifically chosen to assist in making it as water resistant as possible. Pressure treated plywood is usually regular softwood and will absorb moisture very easily.

What is the best plywood for boat repair?

ACX vs Marine Grade Plywood - Curtis Lumber & Plywood
Your best choices are either ACX or marine grade plywood. Both are made with waterproof permanent phenolic (WBP) glue, but there are some important differences between ACX vs marine grade plywood.

I rebuilt my boat with marine plywood bought from Noah's Marine: http://www.noahsmarine.com/

Century Mill Lumber in Stouffville sells marine plywood: https://www.centurymill.com/

Check around for price comparisons.

I would go synthetic if I was redoing my deck. Lighter and permanent.

I agree.......the new stuff is far superior to any wood product

could put it under water for 10 years and no damage
