So after getting some great intel, we hit Erie last week for some walleye action and were super pumped to go
hit the water at 6 am and everybody shot off in different directions
troled for 5 hours and marked a lot of decent fish.....30-60 fow
threw everything at them and caught everything but walleye sheephead silver bass perch
guess it happens......think that is my first skunk for eyes on Erie......thought I would post that not every trip is a success for catching.........but it ws still a ton of fun

Reelingmachine and I had a similar experience opening night of walleye in zone 17. Midnight to 6am he caught one, and I was skunked. The night before opener, the walleye were hungry and I was fishing for crappie. LOL. I am sure you will get them next time. Thanks for posting that, still a good fishing story.

I was on Erie yesterday out of leamington. we tried spoons and harness. Got 3 about 10" that went back and 1 that was just at my personal shortest at 15'. perfect morning maybe should have gone out further. We fished around where we got a 2 man limit week ago in 2hrs. So yes there are definitely slow days at times.

Just as a comparison....Georgian Bay....All species were hot this past Wednesday and Thursday and almost completely shut down Friday, Saturday and Sunday......really had to work at it to get a couple.

Sorry to hear the walleye were awol, but still a fun outing. I find this especially with walleye, some days they ALL just shut down and then out of the blue they ALL turn on and I can't keep them off the hook. Strange how they switch on and off, I should pay more attention to the patterns, but I don't. oops.. I agree if the wind is right, they seem to turn on, "walleye chop", but I have had days were they were hitting hard and it's relatively calm and sunny? go figure.. That's fishing. Never know what to expect and that's what makes it fun!
