Awesome report and pictures JB. Next time you use those paddle tails that the perch steal, don't throw them away. I can show you how to turn them into a wicked crappie bait. Twice the use for the money. And I think the big crappie would like the modifications. You are kicking it out there on the water. I am so jealous. I have only been up to the lake twice this season. Keep the pictures coming.

Nice work JB. You have been busy out there. Some quality fish. I haven’t reported as i have been busy at home getting things done to get back up and fish lol. Walleye were none existent for me until Sunday May 28th. I fished around 10:30 am and at around 11 they turned on as the water had finally began to warm. Caught 3 and lost one in a 10 minute period. 22”,19.5”and18”. Last Friday June 2nd fished in the AM caught one walleye 19” and a pike around 4lbs and lost a big pike. Saturday evening as the northeast wind started to die down around 8 PM i found the walleye as i moved around and caught 7 in under and hour. All fish were caught in 8 to 10 ft of water with a mix of rock and emerging weeds. Hair jig did most of the damage. Just a small change in the water temp made a huge difference as you said, before that i could not buy a walleye. Only OOS bass. Stay safe and good luck out there

Thanks CM.

Yep, keeping those tailless baits for future use

Hopefully you can resume fishing again soon.

Thanks, Chad.

Your musky fishing reports make me want to go musky fishing again.

Have all the required large rods, big baitcasters and lures .

I think I would go a few times this year . We shall see.

Thanks, Flexkk and happy for you to start getting on the walleyes this season.

From mid to late May walleye fishing was Ok for me but it was mostly either night fishing or fishing in windy conditions and I found the fish being deeper than in other years, but now it seems that they are back to their usual late post spawn spots.

7 walleyes in an hour that is an excellent fishing anywhere you go!

Rock /weed mix near deep water is very productive in the Kawartha or anywhere in Ontario.

Thanks for posting and enjoy Balsam fishing and your new trailer.

Those plastics look good. Balsam was always a black double tail mister twister for me.

Thanks WF. There are many good plastics around and everyone has their own preference .

I prefer the scented ones as i notice the fish hold on to them longer.

In terms of color for walleye I like chartreuse, orange, black, purple and brown depending on the conditions.
