Looks like the recent heat wave warmed up the water pretty quickly and that revved up the fish metabolism and appetite .
Went a few times with success to various lakes in the Kawartha and vicinity for pike and walleye and caught a few good ones. friends have been out at different lakes and had some good catches of pike and walleye as well.
This is the time of year ( late post spawn) when the fish is very active and it’s a great time to get your friends or loved ones into fishing and experiment with new lures and techniques.
On one trip I did not bring any cranks or jerks with me () and was just fishing jig and plastic the whole trip to improve my jigging and snap jigging skills . It worked Ok and I caught 8 pikes and 3 walleyes on that trip but most importantly I became a little bit better at jigging , or so I think.
Anyhow, the summer is going fast in Ontario, I hope everyone finds time to enjoy our great outdoors.
Tight lines.
