Oh my gosh that was wet yesterday. I always post when I go fishing. Good fishing or bad fishing who cares. So this is only the third time up here. Just too busy this season so far. The fish were only hitting crank baits. Plastic and jerkbaits not one hit at all. With the wind and rain the water found its way in and I was wet in no time. I did not mind and it kept me cool. Not one mosquito that was the best part of the night. Not one fish to bring home to the family that was the worst part. Walleye were either too big or too small. The crappie were too small 9 or 10 inches. Finally stopped raining after midnight so I stayed out until 5am. The walleye hit like trucks and were very good fighters. Biggest walleye was 26.5 and 25.5 inches and the small ones were all about 15 inches. All fish were hitting during the rain and after it stopped as well. Just could not find one around 19 inches. Heard a wicked fight between a few animals around 2am. I am pretty sure it was a coyote and two racoons protecting there young. The coyote lost LOL. Racoons are like bears. Don't poke the bear. All in all a good one day adventure. No fish for dinner so we had a couple racks of these with potatoes and vegetables.

The dinner for sure looks very delicious!
It was a good night fishing for you despite the rain and the walleyes caught are of excellent size. Just too bad that they were outside of the slot to keep and the crappies were all small.
We needed that rain to help with fires and environment as it became way too dry lately.

Glad to see you have been fishing again. I would be happy to catch big ones and release, but yes having few in the slot would make the experience better.

Thank you JB. Yes they can use all the rain up north to help out with the fires.

It was the same private spot where you and I were fishing last year. That was the night you caught those two big walleye.

Sorry to hear about your fellow fisherman passed away...
I tried another lake last weekend. Did not catch walleye, just 2 pike and 3 nice sunfish around 23cm.

Thank you RM. Glad you caught some fish as well. Perfect weather out there, not too hot.
