I went out today to test out a live scope unit and it did not disappoint. I was trolling and watching my lure on the forward view when something jumped about 20 feet ahead of me. So for fun I turned the live scope to the front and saw a very big fish on the screen. As I am still going forward I turn the unit to the back while still having the fish on the screen. Then my lure comes into view and I drop it a couple of feet toward the fish. Then the fish streaks up and my lure disappears from the screen. I couldn't believe it. Turns out to be a 42" musky. This one was just flaring and thrashing and it was heavy.
I also missed one on the first cast. Last week I went out also but the wind was a little too much. I anchored for a while and decided to head back in. While I'm pulling up the anchor, the front of the boat drops three feet and I have both hands on the rope leaning forward. The boat comes back up and gives me a love tap to the side of the head. Almost knocked myself out. It can happen so quick. Glad I was wearing my life jacket. Someone was looking out for me because as soon as I got back to the dock I had a 36" musky on the first cast.
