I am looking to rig in the morning Lake O out of Lake Front Prominade Park.

I never go alone for safety reasons. Anyone want to chip in on gas and join in?

It was a really great time with David! I’m not even sure what I enjoyed more - fishing itself with such a pro, getting some decent and small fish, missing some decent and small fish, interesting conversations or learning from him.
I think today I got my most important experience in rigging for all the time since I started to do this in 2018.
Yes, we got 11 hits (if I remember it correctly), missed one decent rainbow, released one decent salmon, and kept 4 chinooks as well - one 14 lb and three shakers.
It was a great day and I hope I’ll be doing better now…
(Just to compare: for my three outings to LO this year I got a few popups and no single fish.)
Thanks again, Dave!

Did ok this morning. 6 for 11. Mark has never used a Mooching reel so he had a crash course and lost a few on it. I also managed to knock off a bow about three lbs with a net malfunction. Mark landed a nice 8/9lb Steelhead. The big fish was a 14lb short fat King. The biggest King was again on the Mooching rod so Mark wouldn’t touch it which left it up to me.

Wow! That's seems to be a really nice picture! Apparently, I'm good in it... better than in fishing.

Honestly 6/11 is just ok for what I am used to.

Sounds terribly spoiled I know but I am just being honest. Yes there are harder days but I would say our landing average was low and double digit hits is pretty average.

good outing guys........you got action and had fun.....that's all that;s required

so what was the important rigging lesson learned?

6/11 is fun, but I agree with Disco that double digits is more the norm although it;s a challenge this year,,so far

I will let Mark answer the question about what he learned

I will tell you that at one point Mark said the most amazing thing that I’ve ever heard on the downrigging trip. He said he was hoping that we didn’t catch anything that day. When I asked him why he didn’t want to catch anything he responded and said, if we didn’t catch anything today, I would know that I wasn’t doing anything wrong by myself because I normally don’t catch anything. Since we did quite a few fish, he then had to realize he had a lot to learn. 😂😂
