Five of us rose in the dark yesterday to get an early start with the legendary Longshank. We got going shortly after 6. By 8, being totally fishless, I began to thing "Oh no, not another skunk. My buds and I had too many of those last winter. Things started to look up shortly afterwards with a whopping 2 pounder safely landed. Finished with 2 good lakers, 1 good Chinook, 1 bigger female laker released, 1 lost at the boat plus a few bumps. LS said that was a bit below average. I was a bit of an OFF day---Old Farts Fishing as you can see in the pic. Everyone said they had a good time, which was the main point of the outing
Very little wind that kept shifting directions with noticeable temp changes. A fair amount of smoke---could barely make out TO in the dist.

Where are the other photos
Finally got Knuguy and company out for a morning outing........weather and winds were great, so anticipating a pretty good day......
Shock-the winds from night before kind of flipped the water, as it was 60 degrees down to 65 feet wth.......we set up in 80 and marked lots of bait balls and quite a few hooks as well, but no takers...kept heading deeper to find colder water, but no such luck.......also there was a very strong current, so we knew that it might be a tough day.
was happy that eveyrone got at least one fish, but ya, quite a ways from normal and suspended lakers to boot
a great crew with lots of fish stories and laughs.....thank you
stuff that worked was michingan stinger ..Helmut, white teaser head and meat, green teaser head and meat
that smoke is getting bad, I got home and my eyes were watering plus a good headache as well

My buddy went out to 350 fow for the afternoon trip and did about the same there....I think the constant wind shifts are not helping.......just saying, because we did talk about packing up and running out there with you, but decided not to due to time

Never know what you’re going to get out there some days. Having an expert like Longshank who can pick apart the variables and still put fish in the boat is why he is one of the best.

75-100 feet that is where we saw down temps of 48-52... problem was we also saw active fish at various depths like they were roaming to either finf food and preferred temperatures. when fish arescattered through 40-50 feet throughout the water column it;s difficult to zero in on the correct depth to run presentations
I have seen this a few times before, but not so drastically in 24 hours
