Went out this morning to Bronte for some rigging on Lake ONTARIO As soon as I put down my first rigger lost the weight. A 17 lb fish. The cable broke. Put down the second rigger with 2 lines on her running 60 an 50. In 100-120 feet of water. Hardly marked any fish 8 think I saw about 4 hooks that came up to look at the rigger and then disappeared. 3;hours of washing lures in choppy waters. I have never fished Lake Ontario west of the bluffers. Was I in the wrong area ? Are they deeper or just further East ?

I think you may have been slightly shallow. Try 150’ plus and run on rigger 90’ or so and one shallow at 50’. Run cheaters on both. If you can and have someone else with you run dipseys also.

Ran out of Ashbridges today 150 +, 2 7-8 lb chinooks that thought they were cohos with the way they cleared water, 1 shaker, and a snap line and lost the lure on the fish all fish hit 80ft on the downrigger. Called it quits at 9:30 as the chop made it more work than play. Was a good bite as most boats had bouncing rods.
