I give it 5 years and there will be nothing in our rivers but chubs. meanwhile on the US side double digit days are the norm pinning. Sad

I would take that bet spooner.

Dooms day for Steelhead has been spouted for over a decade and yet we still have runs. Our runs are small now but I would bet they will grow again.

I think you guys are talking about the opposite. Is it? Or have I misunderstood something?

No Mark we are taking about the same thing. One of us has the opinion that the Steelhead fishery will disappear. One has the opinion it will rebound.

Yes, Dave, thanks. I expressed myself in the wrong way but I meant what you say now. Just wanted to confirm if I understood the conversation.
Will see it in the future but I trust your expertise, Dave.
Anyway, I feel that generally speaking, fishing in LO looks promising in the future… I don’t feel the same for GB though…

Just curious, do you mean the non-native brown trout in the upper credit? Or did you mean the native Brooktrout in the upper credit that are protected well above impossible barriers?
Or did you want to discuss how non-native brown trout and native brook, trout on many other great lakes systems, have full contact with spawning, salmon and steelhead and benefit from the added biomass these fish provide.

Well, I personally cannot discuss it because I have no knowledge about it but certainly would like to know more.
I would appreciate any info or source of information about it, Dave.
Thanks.

It is my understanding that decaying salmon pretty well help out any river/stream system

may look ugly, but the nutrients are quite beneficial
