Spent two days this past week on Lake Ontario . Thanks to some advice from fellow board members steelheader and reelinginthebigone we managed to have a couple decent days. Sure is different than my one line on georgian bay, trying to run 4 rods can sure be a challenge when the other people in the boat are not fishermen, im not gonna lie we tangled lines more than once. First day we went 8/10 with one double header. Fish ranged from the high teens to shakers and everything in between.Second day we had great expectations after the first day but only managed 4/8.Best part of the trip was putting a fellow that has not fished before on a 16 pound king he was thrilled. Sure makes a fellow want to go back.

Very well done. sounds like a blast.

The only time I saw that view from Lake O a few years ago I kept thinking "I wonder if the folks in those towers in there are having as much fun as we are out here"?

I love seeing the excitement of new anglers in Lake Ontario. It's such a great fishery, and there are tons of fishing to be had by everyone.

Thanks for sharing and glad you had a great time! Hope to see you back again!

you will get used to running 4 rods very quickly on lake O, then progress to 6

honestly I would feel naked with just 4 now, but totally get what you mean

Not to worry.......I started with 2 rods decades ago and had good people show and help me gradually working on a variety of spreads......just takes practise and you will get there and be running an 8-14 rod setup in no time

Tony is on my pier. I congratulated him the day he caught that 33. It was actually 33.04 when weighed into the silver salmon, but when he put it on the vertical scale, it took a dump and lost some weight. After the Silver Salmon weighing he took it to the Great Salmon Derby.

Hey Dan

Glad you experienced Lake Ontario.

I haven't towed the boat to Bluffers in 4 or 5 years, but had some very enjoyable and productive days out there.

A few times, when none of my buddies could go, I went by myself. Try handling 2 rods on your own, with a fish on each. Fun and games.
