Spent the day on the north end of Pigeon. Nothing, zilch, zip, zero.
Very windy day. Having never fished there, I just followed some other guys around. Only saw one bass caught. Went down the east side of the big island.
One guy said his nephew got a 42” Muskie.
Yes it was windy yesterday. We just sat on my friends dock and caught perch and a bit of a sunburn. Then I went somewhere else to try and catch some fish. I hope you have better luck today if you get out fishing.

Nope, today in Balsam, South Bay and another donut. Met a fellow at the launch, he said the bass are only biting jerkbaits, no plastics. Well I tossed everything today but the kitchen sink. It was damn hot out.

Very hot. Sorry to hear the bass were not cooperating. Just got back from fishing tonight and the last three nights there was no bass caught. My mind is a bit blurry but I don't remember catching any bass. Going to sleep now no sunrise for me today. I will post last night's pictures later. It's just a guess but maybe the bass are feeding more in the early morning with all this heat. Maybe another member caught some bass. My two friends said they were not catching any either. You will get them next time. Good luck.

I went out Sunday on Balsam. Some small tournament was also on and run out of the provincial park, but it was not very busy compared to what I was expecting. i landed two small bass, both under a pound. One grabbed my blade bait in silver, and the other hit a worm harness. I also got a small walleye, an average pike, a pile of perch, and a giant sunfish (very thick and heavy). I fished until 1:30 pm and then went home. Fish seemed to respond more to live bait (crawlers) than anything else.

That is correct you just can't beat worms and or minnows during the day when there is a heat wave.

The drought is over. My fishing partner came up today, said he was going to show me how to catch fish on my lake. We brought 40 sm in the boat today. Him 32 and me 8, lol. A few largemouth in the mix.
He was my guest so I let him have the bow and I run the motors, which is like work in a breezy day.
We got 5 nice sized and a lot of small ones. We’d get one hooked and you could see two more follow his buddy to the boat.
We lost a bunch too, either on hook set or they pulled the senko right off the hook. Buddy had a good one on, broke 8lb mono.
So the key was to fish brown plastics casting to shore in a foot of water and work to the deep. Casting swim baits, jerkbaits and shad raps, drop shot nothing.
Some fish regurgitated chewed up crayfish.
The weather was supposed to be cloudy all day, but after noon the clouds left and the sun came out, it was quite warm

Wow that is a great outing on the lake, you two had a full day. I wonder if any of those senko pull offs were walleye. Many times fishing for bass with my 10 inch zoom worms, walleye hit the bait and pull it half way off with their teeth. When that happens I check for teeth marks, fix the worm and cast back to the same spot. Half of the time the result is a walleye in the net. The other half is a wasted cast. LOL. Thanks for the report.

That is a nice bass and perfect day to be out fishing. Just curious is the dark pumpkin colour tubes you were using close to this green pumpkin 10 inch zoom worm colour. I know the way the worm is rigged looks weird. That's the way the bait sits under the surface with a 2 inch jighead a little more than a quarter ounce in weight. When a bass or walleye or big crappie hits that bait from the side (T-Bone) and you set the hook it always ends up in the roof of the mouth. Left side or right side never in the middle. Almost impossible to lose a fish when the hook is buried in the left or right side roof of the mouth. Also very easy to remove the hook because the fish never swallow it. Great for catch and release, especially the walleye because of the slot size.
