Very nice. Great craftsmanship and great names to boot!! . To my untrained eye the gaps look a bit small. Are you using wide gap 'scud' type of hooks? BTW----what is the body material?
Top quality hooks and 5.5mm tungsten bead. The hook is wrapped with .03 lead free wire for added weight. Different types of body fillers are used. I did purchase some Raven wide gap hooks which are also excellent quality however I feel the caddis hooks give a more natural profile.

Yeah, so many hooks with different names----scud, nymph etc etc.
My bro, who has tied many salmon/trout flies had offered to make some but I don't think he has the materials typically used. e.g. that stretchy nymph skin or whatever I doubt if he has a UV lamp for coring epoxy either, so it's prob not worth the bother.

Yeah all these tools and materials are costly. There's really no profit margin when you consider overhead costs. Its a fine line. Nonetheless its experience that needs to be learned. I wish I had this opportunity at this age.

Very cool - I can’t see them being Simcoe specific - fish everywhere eat scuds/caddisfly nymphs/larva whatever they’re all called. Splake, lakers, brookies, whities all consume such critters regularly wherever I fish from Muskoka to Algonquin, smallest to largest lakes. Well done!

Agree! Were hoping these will be recognized coast to coast and successful within the right application. You dont know until you try. Definitely not Simcoe specific. Possibilities are endless!

I guess Simcoe Bug is just the name that the originator gave them many years ago. I understand that SI Flies sell them far and wide incl in the US.
SS77---judging by the response on here you, or your sons, will have no prob selling them. I know another guy in Barrie who started making them, as well as others, about a year ago and he is kept busy.

Very nice bugs and love the glow tungsten jigs. At some point, when I am in the market for some new stuff again....have spent far too much money on catching very little so far. Here is another name that should get into your roster...."Fat Bastard" (since you have "Gold Member" already) - fitting for one of those bugs.
