What ever it is you just have to accept it and keep on fishing and enjoying life don’t worry so much it contributes to global warming

Sorry did expect to start a fight in here was just venting. Yes there is ice on simcoe and I could go fish for perch and get off the couch and fish. What i mean is, we used to have LOTS of ICE i could drive my truck on it all the way to long shoal and white no problems ya there were pressure cracks . all normal but Simcoe was frozen solid, needed an extension on cooks and couch! This was consistent for many many years! cant remember the last time i was able to drive on the lake. Something is up and some say cyclic some say we are to blame. i am inclined to think mankind is messing things up as we usually do.

sheesh guys, could you knock it off. We don't want LSO to be like just another nasty FB page. Let's leave politics out of it for starters. How to ask the mods to lock this??

Lol! ?‍♂️. U know some people have been out many times after using sound judgement and made their own decisions. Some of us remember being on ice in November and sometimes not til February. Not everyone takes their cues from the media and government. Some of us use our human skills of judgement and reason. Do people have an effect on climate. Sure. Has the earth been tropical and a sheet of ice without us? Yes. Politics? Global warming is politics! Stick to fishing boys!

They played a really cool clip on the weather channel the other day .

A medieval village emerged from the waters in Spain as the water dries up it exposed a castle, roads and all.

All these comments against global warming and “cycles”. ???

The earth does go in cycles. Generally taking thousands of years just to change a couple degrees on a world average.

We are effecting climate by accelerating what normally takes thousands of years and making it happen in decades.

When global warming was first hypothesized most climatologist shot it down. Yet over a couple of decades the evidence is so heavily if favour of serious accelerated climate change that mostly all climatologist agree that climate change is a serious issue that humans have accelerated.

Let’s go back 40 +years to the 70’s. We were heading for an ice age according to science. All u follow the science people only look at small samples. Look at the science over 10000 - 100000-1000000 years. We are but a spec on this planet. The earth is actually cooler now than most points in history. By that doesn’t fit the carbon tax narrative that our government forces on us and u subjects follow to push their agendas. At one point where I live was under a sea. At one point under 2 miles of ice. So we can have all the windmills, solar and teslas and bike lanes u want. Fact is china and India who produce most of your green energy batteries and panels are responsible for over half the earth’s pollution.china opens 1 coal plant a week to keep up with demand. India ain’t far behind. Can u blame them? We did it! Take a look at lithium mining. Cobalt. Solar panels. What they do with turbines when they expire? Bury em under ground! So feel good wrapping yourselves in your liberal green blankets but everything you believe about our climate and green energy is bull. Go ahead watch CBC, CTV, CNN or whoever. Listen to your dear leaders spew drivel as they jetset across the world and have to send second jets to pick them up because the first broke down in tropical destinations to escape…. The cold. But if you want facts and truth it only takes a little unbiased and individual effort. Probably too much for some of you to swallow as it goes against your unmovable political beliefs But if you are a free thinking person you can come up with your unbiased conclusions. For the record this has been one of my better ice fishing seasons! But I adapt to my environment like my ancestors. I don’t rely on machines or only 1 big lake to do my thing. And I don’t blame anyone else or their beliefs. I just go fishing.

So either way (as is the title of this thread) it’s official - global warming! Whether naturally occurring, human caused, or (most likely) human amplified.

So what!? We’re not changing it with today’s current technology no matter how much we want to. So we’re forced to deal with it. Adapt. Find ice and fish - it’s around, and it’s safe.

No one person can change the world and the condition that it is in. But we can do some small easy tasks to help out Mother Nature. Keep our boats and trailers clean inside and out. Check for fuel and oil leaks in our motors. A healthy motor pollutes less than a motor in bad repair. Don't throw cigarette butts or any other garbage on the ground or in the water. Take your garbage home with you, or throw it in a garbage can. Help prevent forest fires by putting out your camp fire properly. Discard your dead or live minnows away from the water. Help protect the fishery by respecting the fish. Learn how to catch and release fish properly, so the fish has the best chance of survival. And my all time favourite.....Release more fish than you keep. If every angler released more fish than they kept, there would be more fish. And all those fish would make more fish, and those fish would make more fish. And guess what, those fish would make more fish.

Well.... you can call it whatever you want., and you can believe whatever you want..........but our world is CHANGING!!
And if a person can't see that........he must have kept his head in the sand!

Many of us who was born 65-75 years ago........WE remember how GOOD was the ice on Lake Simcoe and how good was the fishing YEARS ago!!!

Trucks were parking in the middle of the Lake in the white fish ( " catching zone" ) And there were times you were catching fish before Christmas!!

Nowadays we are lucky to have 2-3 weeks good solid ice to go fishing!
This year is a write off...........or you are taking a big chance with your safety!

And all this is because of a very STRONG .....el Nino.......influence. And what is ....el Nino???......the Ocean's Temperature is rising a couple of degrees . And what causing this?.......GLOBAL WARMING !!

Oh they are changing it.
Digital currency to a more sustainable further. Tax the cows make meat more expensive to cut it out and make room for substanable alternatives. Transform the industries into a greener further. Ban guns section 16.1 disarment in the agenda for a substanable future. Fill our unfilled jobs with migrants as we witness the biggest migration since the cold war for a substanable future. Farm mandates ,car mandates

Plus a million more things there already done since the distraction of wars

Ready to tokenize your assets for a substanable future?

Already happening.

"Tokenization offers a novel approach to managing natural resources and ecosystems. By tokenizing initiatives focused on environmental protection, we can ensure integrated and sustainable management practices that safeguard our planet for future generations."

What they haven't told us is the cost of it, as our middle class shrinks at the fastest pace in history.
