I\m sorry, but we are impacting the climate

record amount of fossil fuel being burned

record population growth

vast energy required to power AI, crypto and so on

every time a new family settles in Canada at least 1 transport truck is required to service requirements.

b####in at government is a zero solution no matter the stripes

my 2 cents

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry when I see conspiracies being trotted out on here. NBy and large this forum lets people share factual info and informed opinion. I hate to see it being used to propagate misinfo as is done on many FB pages and websites. "Contrails"?????Really!!

Ya I think this topic has run it's course. I will probably lock it soon.. Don't like the bickering with each other.. I left it up, cuz it's been somewhat of another difficult winter, especially for the Lake Simcoe ice fishing season.. Feel bad for the operators and businesses that rely on Simcoe Ice.

I haven't been on Simcoe ice in four years, since our youngest was born even though we live close to the lake. Now that he's five, he's been asking to hit the ice this winter. A month ago, I dug out all of the gear, put new line on the rods and got ready. And we're still waiting patiently! I ended up taking them (boys 5 and 7) up to Gooderham to fish on a lake I know well, and we got skunked. I really need Simcoe to freeze up safely so I can take them out and redeem myself by putting them onto perch for a day. I saw a guy with a portable off the end of Lockhart Rd last weekend and I considered it, but if I'm taking the kids I need to be dead sure there aren't any sketchy spots.

The next few days look warm, but the rain that was being forecasted has lightened up. Next week looks cold. Maybe we'll finally get a dose of winter and get a couple safe weeks on the ice. Fingers crossed.

BTW, ice in Gooderham was only 12". I can remember fishing around this time of year on the same lake and nearly burying the auger to get a line in the water! It's been a warm one.
