I can almost hear the ice augers cutting thru the ice.
With temps of -18C, it won't be long now.

I’m thinking it’ll be good for the opener for walk on only but slippery with the coming rains. Best to have some cleats ready.

+3 with a little rain today but things seem to be holding on.

I did see snowmobile tracks on the lake and the first hut out.

Temps will be down in the minus teens by mid late next week, so maybe the first week might be a little shaky, after that should be good.

Hi All, I am new to this forum. Originally from southern Ontario, currently living in New York so it’ll be a decent trip for me. I’ll be staying on the lake in wades landing area Jan 1st to 5th. It’ll be my first time fishing lake Nipissing. I’m looking for some advice for traveling out on foot from the South Bay. Am I able to walk from there to reach the deeper waters or should I look to find a different access point? I’m also looking for bait shops in the area that will be open January 1st?
Any advice helps, thank you And Happy Holidays.
