Let 2025 be a year to say goodbye to the captain and hello to lots of fresh fish!

I think we are finally have a good year with ice a plenty......sure beats last year when I had to do most of my ice fishing in the freezer.....the only place I could find safe ice and lots of fish.

Arnie

Sounds like your freezer served you well. Mine had great ice but the only fish to be had was Captain Highliner fish sticks. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I am sure that you will fix that this year now that you are back in fishing form Kerry,

Arnie

If not and I am not too far away you can always raid my freezer for a chunk of fish......mostly Chinook and Steelhead in there right now. Looking forward to a mess of perch.....down to my last packet of the Perch....a few Smallmouth. Zero Whities need some desperately.....around 5 Pike.....no pickerel.....but also out of fish sticks....lol.

My guess is there would be 10 inches of ice on callander bay . Who can verify this?

Greetings
If I was there I would at least cut a hole…. Just to see how much ice there really is.
Maybe get that hut ready to send out there.
Yes people…. I can’t wait

Being unable to get an accurate picture of the conditions from others I decided to check myself.

My holes had 7.5 inches of ice.
Minimum 50 mostly popup huts.
As the snow was thinner you could make out the wet spots easy which likely had been drain holes. But as the snow piled up the wet spots disappeared.
Thankfully the below zero is back again.
