I thought they stopped production a few years ago. They said parts would be available, I wonder if they just ran down inventory or stopped producing parts altogether as well.

They probably smelled the coffee when the tide turned towards 4 stroke motors. If you have one, maybe stash a spare impeller and a few other maintenance items just in case.

Yea BRP promised existing warranties would be honoured and parts available. I think mercury was taking over that aspect of things but I could be wrong.

Yes BRP stopped producing Evinrudes in 2020. BRP still exists and are working on what they say s the next generation of outboards with Stealth Technology.
See link.

loved my etec only problem was parts. My computer died and the dealer told me that it would take at minimum a year to get a new one but no guarantee. So I traded it in for a merc. It was 11 years old but I don't consider that old for an outboard. Dealer told me at time that BRP was only making enough parts to cover warranty work, so 5 years after the last one sold.

Sucks that..

I still have one but did buy some basic spare parts a while back.....impeller. 2 sets of plugs...

I spoke with a local marina after seeing this and they still have quite a few parts as well which now may not last long..who knows

I had an older Johnston a few years back and it was hard to get parts then… would have been impossible at this point so I guess I definitely made the right decision to change it up. Hopefully someone takes things over and starts making some parts because I know a lot of guys have them.
