Same deal as others, We got the boat on the water and spent a awesome day cruising around the lake trolling and then fan casting bays etc looking for some splake.

The morning was cool but by mid afternoon it was nice and pleasant out.

We only got two small Splake to show for it but we did have a few follows some bumps and taps but nothing really committing hard just yet.

One came trolling a small spoon in 10ft and the other came casting a tiny perch pattern Rapala into the sunken wood along shore which got hit maybe 2ft from shore.

Water was anywhere from 44-47 and surprisingly all fish even the follows came from the 44 bay.

A Snapping turtle was out sunning himself, loons were back and it was just a really nice spring day.

Where I fish the Loons guide you to the fish. If the Loons are catching, so should the angler be catching.

Likewise, though now I am hesitant to cast anywhere near loons. Had a loon follow a small bass on my hook straight to the boat last year - that would have been a bad scene if he decided my bass was going to be his lunch!
