Hello my friends, Had a pretty decent month of May, considering the poor weather we've had for most of the month. Got onto some decent size crappie early in the month, and now they are starting to produce even more. I also started trolling for walleye throughout the month and had one big surprise. I had to hit one morning and thought I had hit the largest walleye of my life. After battling this fish for 10 minutes or more, I came to the conclusion that it was definitely not a walleye. I finally got a glimpse of the fish as I brought it to the boat and it was a huge sheep head. I also did Pike and walleye Derby on Lake Bellwood with a good friend of mine from The Forum, steelheader Dave. We were unable to get into the prizes as fishing was slow and not many boaters had caught fish that we had spoken with. This was my first time on Lake Bellwood and only Dave's second or third. The first day we focused on the Pike for many hours and were unable to get even a bite. Winds were strong gusting to 50K and I believe this cold front shut the bite down. We focused on the walleye bite the second day of the derby, and were able to get several walleye in the 17-in to 18-in range. This provided us with a very nice dinner to go home to. Definitely a fun Lake to fish and I will do it again in the future, have a Crappie day.

Wow Dale, you guys have been busy. Not sure which picture I like the best. OK, its the big crappie and the big walleye. I guess no problems at all getting back to normal for you. You are a tough guy, good job.
