Spending the day today refurbishing a swingset i built for my 4 kids in 1999. When i built it i stated that this swingset will still be around for my grandchildren. After 4 of my kids using the crap out it along with their friends plus a bunch of my neighbor's kids who are sorta halfway between my kids and grandkids in age and finally my first granddaughter who is now 8 it is time to give it a once over as there are 2 more grandkids now that will soon be using it.
Built of western red cedar with some marine grade ply where needed. All bolts and nuts are 5/8s 316 SS. Chains are 3/16 grade 30 zinc plated. All chains are getting replaced as is one of the seats for a baby seat. Anchors are 3/8 wire rope turn-buckled to inground concrete anchors.
Today's refurb includes new chains, new baby seat and checking all bolts nuts. Wood is weathered but no rot and all solid. Dog sorta in the pick is my 14 year old Walker.
