Fished Rice several times. Almost exclusively out of Bewdley. Usually I get out earlier than this too. Friday will be my first since hardwater!
Thought I would try something new and rent a boat out of Roseneath. I am not asking for spots, I enjoy the challenge of finding my own. Just asking is it worth my while to rent out of Roseneath and fart around in that area around the islands or should I stick with Bewdley?
Not a lot of chatter of what's hot or not right now. Hearing there might still be some crappie bite (is there?) and I imagine the walleye daytime bite is tough. I got no choice but daytime if I'm gonna fish.
While I'll primarily target walleye, I'll try crappie too. I figured there is a good mix of shallows, weed beds and deeper water in that area to experiment with. I plan slip bobbers, white grubs (my confidence lure!) and hair jigs in the weeds and will do some trolling with worm harness. I'll adjust and head deeper if necessary. Thought I might grab some minnows too just in case.
Any advice is appreciated. Heck if you know the area and are looking for a free boat rental opportunity shoot me a DM.
Mid summer I have a family function at Elmhirst Resort and will have a week to play around in the waters around that area of the lake. Thougt I'd get a head start!

Hey thanks for the reply I've had luck early in the season on the north shore out of Bewdley and working the deeper water straight out of Bewdley when I had my boay. My nicest walleye ever was caught there! I cast out and was letting it drift while I was just setting the boat up proper when it hit. Water was so rough I called it very shortly after that. Still had to call it a good day
