Great report and pics. That campsite looks amazing, nice cleared site with a view. And the food looks great too!
As we were arriving, my cousin says “someone weed-trimmed the site”… I’m like NO way. But upon inspection, yeah, there was tall grass all laying down on top of the short grass, evidently trimmed within the last day or two. Upon speaking with the wardens, yes, they did trim it up.
Odd actually, I know they maintain sites and portages, but had no thought that they would ever cut the grass miles in there. Stellar job boys and really made the site look inviting. Not sure if they do it for a better experience with newbies, or try and keep numbers of tics and bugs down or what, but definitely overkill from what I’m used to, but well appreciated. I guess in the end it’s all a business, and Ontario parks needs to keep the visitors coming too.

Thanks for the comments guys, truly an amazing campsite, one of the best I’ve been to. I have high expectations (sometimes unrealistic maybe) on trout fishing in the Park, but in the end, the experience, company and location are more important to me than how many fish hit the net - 99% just get let go anyway, so doesn’t much matter. Need more vacation hours or retirement to really explore some country. My 8’x10’ wall map has lots of lakes left without pins in ‘em.

I like the lure choice. Lakers in our area love them Dominion 77's. Especially in hammered finish.
It is the hammered one. It’s all I use trolling. I always started with this spoon, and in the past switched and switched and switched lures all day when I couldn’t catch anything. Not any more. It means the fish are not on. I don’t bother switching now. If I’m trolling, it’s that spoon, and if not catching anything it’s just a slow day, and need to switch to jigging.
