On the water at 8:30am and trolled NE at 2.5mph. Not marking much. |Dead calm day. I had put on my smaller Luhr jensen Shoehorn spoon blue/silver/pink as it had worked for me in the past this time of year. Running it about 20ft off bottom.

No action on it, so switched to a bigger Shoehorn, Wonder Bread pattern. That was the ticket.

We had 6 fish on it and managed to land 2, I landed a 5lb laker and since Phil and I take turns when we fish, he landed an 11 lb laker on my rod.

All of the action was in 130fow, well out in front of the Tank Range and the lure was about 20 ft off bottom.

Fish will be made into Indian candy in the Bradley on Sunday.

Both are really round especially the top one. Good day on the water even if you didn't get a lot of fish

Nice pic. Looks like that laker had a bit of a weight problem...chunky one for sure.

Cheers,

Well done Dave & Dan. I wouldn't mind a PM on your location and bait choices.

I could see that big laker following the spoon, did a couple of quick zig zags so that the spoon rose and fell. That seduced him into hitting.

I've tried that technique before and had success with it.
