This is my first summer being retired and with no major projects to work on I have been fishing more often.
We have been fishing a river system near the park and getting a few pike both times. It’s a scenic little spot a fifteen minute paddle from our put in. It’s a nice little morning jaunt and the pike are nice eating size.
We also visited a friends cottage on the July long weekend that we visited that same weekend every year more than twenty years ago. We ended up buying our own cottage and had not been back until this year. My wife and I fished it a couple part days to try for some walleye but the three we caught were alll in the slit for that region,Zone 18 north of Napanee. We got a decent pike, small mouth and I kept some pumpkinseed (desperate) to put on a fish fry for our hosts. Great weekend with great friends.
We got back to our own place and fished a back bass lake for largemouth that was hugely successsful for eater size fish with most being around a pound with the biggest around two pounds. Here’s a few pics.
