before i get started i apologize for no pictures. My usual partner steelheader Dave couldnt make it so i headed out with another board member on Friday. Calm day on Georgian Bay was able to run a long way. Our day started with a 4 pound salmon not big but good eating. Shortly after my rod fires knocked off no fish.trolled for a while after other rod goes 12 pound salmon. shortly after rod is just thumping buddy goes to set fish is gone. tried various lures after then decided to switch to a meat rig. We had been marking fish up high in 190 feet thinking salmon rod fires fish on, didnt take long to figure out it was no salmon 85 feet down in 190 feet of water fish in the net we guess to be a lake trout between 15 to 16 pounds left fish in the net in the water removed the hooks and away it went.Same rig goes down same depth another 10 pound laker. Caught another laker after that about 7 pounds. went 5/6 yesterday even had a visit from a rare CO out in his boat wanted to see fish and life jackets then asked two old guys for a licence who didnt need it and was on his way, very professional visit he even came along side our boat with lines out and motored along as we trolled asking questions about our day and our season so far. Seems its been slow for a lot of people he has talked with. Dan
