Made a last minute decision to get the kid out for a boat ride.
Last year he hated the life jacket and wouldn’t move once it was zipped up, like a frozen grumpy sausage. This year he’s mobile, into everything. One worm on my line, 11 on the floor of the boat;

The haul - not bad for a couple hour trip. The worst part was filleting at 9pm in my back yard, deer flies and mosquitoes quite ripe, me with slimy pike hands. I forgot about that special stink pike have. I prefer the less fishy, more dirt smell of ling myself.

Nice haul of fish and great to see you have a new apprentice with you.

I forgot how grumpy they get about wearing a life jacket.

now that was a great day. doesn't get any better than fishing with little guys. Took my oldest out with gramps at about that age. 30 years later I still remember that day,

Great report and good for you getting the little guy out there..

Well done! And nice haul of walleye and pike.

That's a good outing in any book and extra extra double bonus points for getting on those fish with a little one in the boat --- ie. mood swings, attention span, finicky, hungry, tired, thirsty etc etc -- I would know.. LOL

Cheers!

That’s awesome. My 8 year old soon to be 9 year old got in trouble at camp at the fish hatchery today for putting minnows in his pockets…. The fun is only beginning for you haha. Enjoy it.
