Had my grandson out on the bay yesterday to troll for some salmon and trout. His last outing with me only produced one small lake trout so we had high hopes for the next time. The day started off slow with no action so we changed gears and tried some bass fishing. That didnt produce any results so he says to me can we try for salmon again. WE set up again and trolled for 20 minutes and fish on, i hand him the rod and i was sure this fish was going to win , thought he lost it and then it jumps ,well hes screaming its a king its a king then it runs staight to the boat and im srceaming reel reel !!! this fish was still green but i got it in the net and in the boat. So another salmon fisherman is bitten by the bug.

Great post. Love that smile too. I think you're right grampa, that salmon wasn't the only one that got hooked....lol. Looks like the next generation's going to be OK....

Thank you for the comments everyone , he knows lifejackets are required when he comes with me. Also his Mom and Gramma made it perfectly clear to me that he better have one on and so should I and we all know we dont need that kind of trouble LOL.

Great story - you couldn't ask for a better result!
I agree with the life jackets. I always made my kids where them, and I wore mine as well. I figured if I ever fell out of the boat and injured myself there was no way the two young lads would be able to drag my butt back into the boat.
