Hope everyone has had a successfull summer on the soft water, I know we have but its hard to believe I am asking about some hardwater action.
We are heading to Nippissing for the family day weekend as a boys weekend and some hardwater action and asking for some guiddance as to which outfitter to use that time of year as I understand the fish move out of the southern part mid february. If this is incorrect please feel free to tell me so. We have never fished your lake and any help would be greatly appreciated.
If this question has been asked before please guide me to the post as I didn't see one in the first 10 pages of this forum.

Hey Randy. Me and my boys go up for the super bowl weekend. We use the Waltonian Inn. First class service, and huts are clean and heated. They don't have the ice condos that some of the outfitters have, but their cottages are good and the have a bar and restaurant on site. Fishing is usually good. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Randy, we have been going to the same outfitter for the past 20 years, Idle Tyme Fishing Camp out of Callander Bay. They offer cottages you can stay in and they will take you out in the morning to their day huts and they also offer on ice bungalows where you can spend the whole time out on the ice. Nice accomadations either way with great service. The owners names are Shaun and Terra, check out their web site.

Have been going up for our annual boys weekend away for about ten years now. Have tried a few different outfitters in that time and have settled on Angler's Haven in South Bay. Nice bungalows and good fishing advice. Owner/operators are Marc and Shelley. Good folks.

It's got to be the one and only Sandy Bay Cottages. Have tried other places to see what their like and have always ended up back at sandy bay. The fishing has always been great, service is super, and the owner Jeff will take care of your needs. Been going their ever since i was old enough to hold a rod and it has been a family trip with my Dad ever since. We go up that same time and it has never let us down! My Family has been going their for over 20 years and has never let us down.
Thanks for all the responses it is greatly appreciated. This year we have decided to stay a little closer to home with just a 2 1/2 hour drive instead for the 5 1/2 hour drive. I will post our results when we return. Thanks again and I have saved all these places in my favorites for future use including s fall fishing week with the wives.

Randy nice to hear you decided on your location, just an FYI obviously not all the outfitters are the same, as you probably know but you really cant go wrong with Idle Tyme. The Waltonian is also good but the fishing is hit and miss. We usually stay at the waltonian if the majority of my group want an American Plan type trip.
Last year we stayed at Idle Tyme, and I booked for this year on the way out. The service was awesome, many places will take you out to the "bungalows" and not come back until the end of the trip, Shawn and his crew would ask if we needed anything 3-4 times a day. They even went to the store and brought us back some fish crisp for our fish fry...obviously we were successful and had enough fish for eight of us to have enough walleye and perch to fill everyone up.
This years trip is a group of 17, much based on how we did last year, my usual group is around 10-12 guys. I turned down 5, based on it being to much for everyone to participate in the poker tournament...lol
Next year we may set up a WPT in Nipissing at the growth rate who knows?
