First Ice

It Begins:

Beaver ponds at my place froze over Saturday night no open water anywhere on the ponds that i could see. Weedy shallow sections on small bays of my main lake also had a skim of ice this morning:



Nipissing Village area.

Ice looks amazing when it starts to form. Any fish in that pond?

There are some pike but they are small. They seem to get stunted and have head sizes that don't match their body size.

Learned how to skate on a small pond like that. You could see the fish swimming underneath the clear ice. Are the pike heads this big?

Looking forward to another season out on the Lake.

Looking at the 14 day forecast there should be measureable ice by the 15th of december When can we expect kokes ice reports? Looking foreward to good ice by seasons opener\

Koke has put up some "Iceless" Reports

Last report yesterday Koke had some shots of ice forming in sheltered quiet areas of the lake. Next 2 weeks should be good for ice building.
