Very cold this morning.  The lack of wind and nice sun sure helped alot to not freeze...literally.  Cool herring.  Haven't caught one since my Simcoe fishing days.  Let us know how you like eating them and how you decided to cook them.

Cute little WF Mykola

Lemmon pepper grilled on sheet on bbq.
I would say similar taste to mild salmon or trout flavour. It’s more oily than say walleye … which I cooked the exact same way a couple months back and ended up much drier.

Overall, I’d do it again….wife liked it too

Nice catch of Herring Drew enjoy Happy New Year and tight lines. How much ice thickness?

Maybe 4-6” Frank. It’s not the lake you’re likely thinking of …. That one has minimum 6” as of today out near the big part…. caught one laker and lost one in under two hours first thing this morning.
