Lake was covered in big snow drifts all the way across.

Loaded up and headed out around 12. Halfway to the islands I hit one of the 100's of drifts and boom lost the entire load. Repacked, and kept going.

The auger. Took an absolute beating — plastic cracked or gone.
5-10 min later started and holes finally popped.

Then the buddy heater - Looked like I went at it with a hammer, just mashed up real bad and that didn't want to start either but she finally did.

On the way back at 5:30ish we hit another drift and the pins on the Pelican gave way (good luck finding those). Dug out a rope and limped the last 8 km back to shore at about 15 mph.

Tomorrow is going to be an expensive day taking stock of what gear is just done!

pinheads… why pinheads? I don't know but put a pinhead on boom.

Prime time = can't keep two lines down and baited!

50+ walleyes, 2 perch, 1 cisco, and one tank that got away.

Still no trophy yet.

I can believe it! That wind and cold front later Friday was creating drifts around the parked sleds even. A rope to attach a trailer is always my backup too.

I can see the end of wheels coming soon for the lake and only tracked equipment will get through. Tuesday’s forecast snow will be the change to tracks only I think.
