Til next season, boy it goes fast
Visit from Mnr and dog
and a chase and search on the way home as well
seems they are full Blitz this year all this week.

Oh yeah it goes fast. Not sure if I’ll get out again, pretty crappy out. Will have to wait and see and hear more about the conditions.

I did not get out once this year. Between all the snow removal I had to do and Taj not putting huts out, I just did not have the zen to battle the weather relying on myself to get me out there. Too many ailments at 77. I hope Taj starts back up again or I find another operator for next year.

So as for my entering the fish derby......I have once again contributed to the Dale Bennett benevolent fund.....lmao.

I am off to Ireland on Tuesday for 5 weeks and on my return in April am looking forward to some Spring Chinook salmon.

Yes a chocolate lab from Bracebridge.
Good sniffer but no good for attack dog.Need a shepard for that he said.
Said he had caught some hiding their fish, Dumb Dumbs
Never seen such an all out blitz and checking.
Planned in advance but they had perfect weather and conditions.
I questioned on Metis and Native status restrictions and she confirmed they check
and enforce for card location requirements.

Thanks for the reply.

I've seen working dogs to find drugs, money, meat but never fish.

My acquaintances who have Metis/status card generally stay within their treaty boundaries.

never went out this year either, Arnie have fun in Ireland. Saw a couple guys out in a boat today on the SCR, there is 1 ramp open, but there were 4ft waves and these guys were trying to move as fast as they could. Way to much bouncing for me. I will wait a couple more weeks before I launch my boat.

Sudbury unit used to have a K9 attached. If the dog was from Bracebridge, maybe they don't at the moment?

They're trained for evidence detection (sport fish, shell casings, etc.).

Another season ends but it was a great year. Good ice from the start and lots of nice days.

I think we are spoiled on Nip with the crazy numbers, amazing sunsets and just how much water there is to try.

No walks off the ice, new places explored, lots of fish, new structure located (rare), meet new people and lessons learned = Perfect!

Time to pack it away and go over the summer gear.

Yup it was a good season but too fast…. Drying out things now and then it’s packed away until next year.
