Last Friday my son and I gave the river a try for steelhead. We started around 9:30 and the river was a little dirtier than I thought it would be with about a foot and a half of visibility. It was a brilliant sunny day with very little wind. We threw a variety of spoons but never had a bite. Great day out with someone I love spending time with. We both got sunburnt faces.

On Monday my brother and I gave it a try because the forecast looked rainy for the rest of the week and would blow it out. Warm temps made for easy conditions comfortwise but it was still a tough bite. After a couple hours a small silver hit my five of diamonds aggressively and I landed it. Fifteen minutes later I had a soft it and hooked what felt like a heavy fish. After a bit of give and take I beached a big steelhead. We fished out the rest of the day with no more action. It doesnt seem like there are many fish in the river right now. Another guy downstream hooked a sucker and as he was bringing it in he felt huge weight. After fifteen minutes he landed a 42 inch musky that was hanging onto the sucker he hooked!

I weighed the steelhead at home at 12 pounds 9 ounces my second biggest steelhead. Heres a couple pics

We both fished hard for 6 hours but it didnt want to happen . We still had a great time and my son stayed super positive the whole day and wants to go again.
