Good to see a great Crappie report......well done Jamie....in your happy place.....thanks for sharing fish brother.

Arnie

Thank you Arnie, it was a cold happy place. Got back home today by lunch time. I did want to fish today, but off to St. Thomas tomorrow to see my relatives visiting from Alberta. Going to get a good sleep tonight. My friends have been out on the lake all day today. They sent me this picture as they were gloating. They are not very nice at all. LOL.

LMAO....good for them though.....St. Thomas.....I was there just 2 weeks ago and yesterday came back from Windsor.

Arnie

Awesome Man!! Those Norse gods (the only real gods where us outdoor rednecks are concerned LOL) can be finicky.

Agreed sir. There is quite a bit of supernatural, Fishing Gods superstition out there. Everyone has that lucky lure they think will work, when all else fails. That's another reason fishing is so amazing. The phrase.... Just one more cast, that usually turns into dozens more etc. Fishing at night so much, I wish on falling stars all the time. LOL.

Yup, going down to the farm for a visit...Great memories. My uncle fishes Erie for walleye and perch. The farm is where I learned how to clean the pig barn, pick rocks, grow food, drive tractors, combines, trucks and ride motorcycles. Also the first place learning about firearms, and how to shoot and handle a gun safely.

Hey RM, how are you? Yes another late start, like last spring. My first crappie fishing was May 3rd last year because of the enormous clean up from the ice storm. Quite a few loose branches came down again, with the few storms this year. I will have to get on that before my next fishing trip. Saw your post on the Northern Lakes, birds can be very helpful in finding the fish. Good luck to you and everybody on the walleye opener.

Tomorrow will be good from sunrise to sunset on Balsam. Cold at 6am and warming up to 15 in the afternoon. A bit of wind but a perfect day to catch some crappie and walleye. Slow retrieve in shallow cold water...2 to 6 feet only. Fish will be there catching a sun tan beside a dock, log, small rocks or some old weeds.

There is some waves forming...going to get choppy after lunch. Wind is mostly SSE getting up to 15kph...wind gusts up to 30kph...a few showers later at sunset, maybe.... Edit: Heading out now to meet up with my friend on his boat. It's going to be rainy and windy after midnight until morning. Will post some pictures tomorrow if my phone does not get waterlogged.
