My daughter said she would join me this morning and we were going to do a tried and true lake but decided to go exploring on a splake lake where our friends are building a cottage . Neither one of us have been there begore but it gets stocked with splake. We got there at 8am and started down the far shore which looked shallow and featureless. We werent impressed but went all the way down that side with only a bass caught which I am never impressed either in a trout lake . As we came back the other shore the bank steepened and the water darkened indicating depth. It dudnt take long and I got one trolling. I picked up a couple more trolling and then my daughter got in on the action casting. All fish were between 15-18 inches but beautifully coloured and marked. We kept 5 and let a couple smaller ones go.
We finished up around 1:30 just as it started to snow lightly. Today is my last day and I headed home
