Bass Spawn, Is it on or over?

Have our annual bass opener trip coming up, a bunch of us get a cottage on a lake in the north Hastings area.

How are the water temps/levels up that way? Weed growth? I think there's been more rain up that way than in the GTA so maybe water hasn't warmed as quickly.

I haven't been on open water for a few weeks, curious to hear your thoughts and observations on where the bass will be in the spawn cycle for opener. Hopefully they're through, but I suspect they may have started late compared to previous years.

Bass are still spawning, the water temperature is still 1 to 2 degrees lower than the average for this time of year. I time the bass spawn with mowing the lawn. It is an exact comparison every year, without fail. This week will be the 4th time mowing the lawn, after that the bass will be done spawning. Every area will be different, depending on how much rain and warm days so far this spring. If an angler lives way up north, the bass spawn will be starting and finishing later. If an angler lives in Windsor for example, those bass are probably leaving the nests today. The next two weeks the daytime temperature will be 20-22 degrees. Night temperatures will be cool, with some windy day/nights mixed in. Great fishing weather for a comfortable, relaxing time on the water. Question is...How will this latest cool down affect the fish. There is also a couple very wet days on the way, according to the latest forecast. And as always, the forecast could change tomorrow. Mother Nature is very unpredictable, sometimes kind and sometimes cruel. I would think Rice Lake and Lake Scugog bass will be ready, hungry and catchable by next Saturday.
