QUIET BOARD

HI EVERYONE WHY IS THE MESSAGE BOARD SO QUIET THIS SEASON?

Nip has to be very calm for me to get out there and we just haven't had many of those days yet.

It can look perfect all day, and then at 4 it changes.

Sunday looks good but that's too far away to be real.

I was wondering the same thing, very quiet.

Maybe there are no more fish in the lake so everyone has gone home LOL

I usually fish everywhere but nip this time of year. Maybe I should give it a shot

I just returned last weekend from a week on the Upper French and between 6 of us, we caught about 900 bass. It did not suck.

The bugs on the other hand...haha.

My buddy and I did very well on May 26 and June 6 very close to town.

4 walleyes in the slot and a dozen jumbo perch each evening but I think they've moved further out into deeper water now due to temps and now the shadflies.

We were very surprises no one was fishing from shore on this point...hint hint.

Got too many things in my everyday life to enjoy much fishing atm.

This board really picks up in the ice fishing season and goes quiet for the summer.
First time checking in for me in quite awhile.

My morning ritual is:

* check the stock portfolio
* check the LSO forum.

The first one... historically makes me cry, the second one... brings me back to life...lol.

I agree about the ice fishing comment as the forum really pops in winter.

On a separate topic, I caught my first (and very unexpected) Crappie yesterday. I was casting for Pike with a spinnerbait....go figure.
I'm no expert on Crappie, but think it's a decent one, measured 13.75".
The other fish is a LM Bass about 3.5 lbs

I did make it to the islands this weekend and that never disappoints but I didn't take many pics.

No monsters but very consistent catch rate all afternoon and I was on a really nice rich person boat (not mine).

Didn't have to drive all day = Super Bonus!

Was that your first crappie ever? If so, that's awesome. Crappie are a very elusive fish, always moving in the summer. They feed all the time, from shallow water to being suspended in deeper water. Very early mornings you can find them right in with the bass, then they are gone.

Looking good man! I think you have lost some weight buddy! Trying to get up either Wednesday or Thursday for 4 or 5 days - maybe even 6 days if work leaves me alone. Will let you know when i am up and maybe we can hit a back lake if schedules work out.

Hey Crappeeeman, this one is my second. My first crappie was a 5" special., again catching it was a surprise.
I caught this one a 3/8 oz spinnerbait with a 3" white tail...didn't think it was really Crappie tackle....Oops... lol. Still searching for my first Walleye in the Honey Harbour area thought..haha.
Sometimes fishing doesn't make sense.

Had the strangest luck walleye fishing from the dates of 7/25-8/1. We caught 2 oversized walleye in 8-10 foot of water when chasing bass with a leech or a worm and another in 24 foot of water, even catching a small walleye in 3 foot of water. We couldn't put a pattern on the fish at all!

No perch either.

I didn't catch a lot of fish, but I caught the biggest of the trip.
