Hello all, firstly I live in Milton and the air quality here is bad, a lot of smoke in the air from the fires up north.

What is it like in the north?

well down here in the south it is really bad, you'd think the house next door is on fire. Visibility is about 50%

Air Quality;
My brother in Sault Ste. Marie said their air rating was over 10+. In the GTA now, the air quality is 10+, very unhealthy.
It's indoors for me today. No sense asking for it.

Cheers,

Outside it’s kinda like an ashtray. But I’m not too concerned.

It's like 1980's bingo hall level. Lol

Seriously, prevalent winds generally blow from the south west so you southerners are probably getting smoke from the hundreds of US fires. Yes they have many also.

If only there was a way of putting a tariff on it.

I was on a little back pond in my canoe after work Tuesday and it looked like a doomsday scenario at times.

Blue skies turned a weird orange and it looked thick as in you could see different clouds of smoke coming along. I didn't find it bad to breath but that sky looked strange for sure.

A bit of nice blue sky right now west of Barrie, no bad taste either.

our prevailing winds are NW and all this smoke is coming from that direction and radar says same thing.

Lots of wild fires in Ontario also, along with northern Minnesota! Bet the animals and birds are running and flying out of the areas for their lives! This really sucks!

One would think that the US would send some help to contain these wild fires north of their border, instead of just complaining about the smoke venturing south. That’s what good neighbors would do!!……

This is what Windsor and Detroit has looked like the past few days. Lots of smoke from the wildfires and very hot outside. Cold, clean air inside the Windsor Casino. I wanted to get on the river, that's not happening.

a lot nicer today here, hot but can breath the air. I have seen that cruise ship a couple different times. Once it cut in front of me not close when I was fishing leamington. It stopped short of the point pelee and anchored and let off a bunch of smaller boats to take people to shore to hike the trails.

Yes much better, the smoke was replaced by the thunder of hundreds of Harleys on the streets of Windsor this weekend. I sure miss riding my bike in a huge pack like that. Had to give up drag racing and riding my Harley after wrecking my shoulder at work. The heat and humidity brought these swarms out. We called these fishflies when I was a kid in Kingsville. I do believe this is a Giant Hexagenia. There was quite a few of these on the walls and sidewalks of the Casino. When I was young, the streets were slip and slide on your bicycle. Houses, cars, street light poles, fences etc. Everything covered by these a couple times every summer. Messy, slimy, smelly LOL.
