They are supposed to be there....we caught 6 last spring during the Pike touney...after that, there they were, gone. I don't know the lake that well however, but they are there if ya can find them!

As for water levels....yup, it was low....lost my first ever prop there this past summer....lol.

I'll be headed up as soon as they are open and will report then.

Good luck and stay safe!

Rob

My son and I were doing alright on pickerel a couple of years ago about 30ft off shore, but we were in a canoe and water skiers were running between us and the shore. Haven't been back on the water since. I went down for ice fishing that winter, but didn't have much luck. It was windy and I wasn't there very long.

Ahh....the summer and the lake full of idiots skiing, tubing, jet-sking etc.....right beside your boat when you are ancored etc......within 10 feet....this lake is bad for that....maybe take Bayliners advice and bring a paint gun.....!!!

They just laugh at you when you put your arms up in a "what the @#$%" as they fly by.....

Idiots.....sorry.

Good report, Although I thought it was closed below the dam, I'm sure of it. I live in Elora 2 blocks from the river and it's closed till spring?
The walleye where stocked in the lake above the dam so I'm not sure how you will do below. Below the dam the pike fishing can be good as well as brown trout.
Love to ice fish the lake maybe I'll see you around some time. I'll try too stop in there one night this week and have chat with the park super and find out when the lake will be open for ice fishing. He is very approachable and will no the regs

tightlines

I think the only stipulation is artificial lures and barbless hooks from the dam to Fergus. The new book of regs keeps getting smaller and smaller with less descriptions. I too live in Elora and thought it was closed, but reading the new book twice am unclear.
