Never hear much about cohos any more.
Are there any in Lake Ontario or Georgian Bay?

If they are there, when do they come in to spawn?

I remember reading something years ago that they were late spawners and didn't come into the rivers until December.

Hey Shank, you'll probably have the answers for this.

There are still some coho around and they always came in late.

I have caught cohos in the river in the fall. It's been a few years for me now, but I did hear of runs this fall in the credit river. They usually come in after the chinooks -- at the end of their run, anywhere from late Oct to first week of Dec. When they first come in, usually after a nice rain, they are beautiful and silver and reel screamers. Later they turn this dark pink colour.

They generally come in all in one pod, not like chinooks where you get a few different runs, early and late fish. My experiences with them anyway. I haven't river fished for salmon in years, can't stand to see all the shenanigans out there that time of year.

Can't add much Sdc.

Lots of Coho on Lake O.....anywhere from 3 to 40 pounds

In fact the WORD RECORD is from lake O, not the west coast.

They are easy enough to get in the spring, from shore and or boat , then again in the summer by boat and then one last time in the fall......

they come in in pods as decribed and again you can get them from shore, but timeing is everything.....

I rarely get them in the Niagara river, but that may be for lack of targeting them

I do best of shorelines when they are around with spoons and spinners. They hit aggressivley if you find them

Since Ontaio decided to cut back on Coho stocking, the number are not what they used to be.but the US is still puing them in thankfully.

my buddies got quite a few in lake O streams. from what i understand they have moved the chinook out of ringwood and focusing on bows and hos now. Orangepeel here on the board works with the Metro East Anglers who run ringwood and he is on the lake lots. if anyone knows its him
