I don't have an iPhone but my Grandson does. He only has the freebie GPS ap on it but we have used it more than once to find our way. It is more than good enough for that. Presumably the Navionics will be no worse and probably better. It will also have depths. Try this: look about half way between Fox Island and Big Bay Point. You should be able to pick out Long Shoal, a strip of shallow water surrounded by much deeper water. Hope this helps.

Cool! Bob, how does it fare in regards to smaller lakes in this area? I know there are far to many to chart and store'em all, but medium-small, like Dalrymple and Sparrow

Hard tell which lakes are on I have small lakes show up and some larger do not. I purchased the more expensive program and it updates regularly. I find it good. Used it in the states and B.C. and worked well.

I have Navionics on my Samsung S 3 and Galaxy tab.
Bob, how do all you old school guys figure out all this new tech., like on what to purchase and how to use it? I know how to use my GPS for hounds and my ice67 but when it comes to phones I have no idea on how you learn all that stuff??
