Had a conversation with Taj of Caseys Ice Huts today. He was thanking us for the business our members have given him and he has offered our members minnows at 1/2 price for the weekend of Jan 19 / 20. So anyone going to Port Bolster drop in to Caseys and mention you are a member for your discount.

Awesome...is this in relation to hut's or cost of minnow's / parking also?

Taj, is a great guy!.....

We were out last weekend early, and bright and early he was full of energy. A individual even offered to come out and show people where parking was while he was hanging out having a coffee...

Good environment to start the day and was a great day!

We were happy.

Nice gesture on his part. Casey's has always been a first class operation. I remember Casey's when I was a kid fishing with my father back in the 60s.

The REAL GOOD NEWS would be if we got strong ice by then after this warm spell.

Even better we could go out on our machines.

But maybe we have to wait another week for that.

Could they give us that deal another week later?

Also thank-you Bob for everything you do for us..

But maybe we have to wait another week for that.

Could they give us that deal another week later?

Or we could get minnow at discount from Casey, and then move and fish some other locations (I mean, since off PB and a week later from current warm weather, that is, on Jan 19 or 20, more than likely there would be no safe ice at all?)

And thanks Casey's/Taj!

Some of the most dangerous ice on the lake when it does firm up due to the cold will be out of Port Bolster and Cooks....

Cooks cause of the ice resuce and and the new channel's carved out by the ice boats.

But PB will be unsafe cause there are tons of holes out there that have been drilled and are likely 24" wide now. So the ice near might firm up well and then the holes will have a skim or a few inches of ice.

They are forecasting snow also, which sucks......

This winter is looking like another bust, hard to believe but even worse than last year....
