Hey guys i was just wondering what everyone considers to be the "right" amount of space between ice fisherman. I had this one guy last year that saw that I was catching and he set up 5 maybe 10 feet away. A little close no? My buddies and i don't even fish that close to each other when we go. It looks like it might be a busy weekend so I wanted to hear what you guys have to say.

I like the 50 yard rule. Lastyear my dad brother and I were on simcoe set up in a triangle maybe 10 yards apart and we got a couple fish. These 2 people ( a guy and girl) came in between us and augered 2 holes. We asked if they wanted our holes to use and they said "NO WE JUST CHECK" and started fishing. Dad was about to flip his lid before I talked him into changing our location.

I agree it should be minimum 50 feet away. When I go with my buddies for Lakers and White fish , we fish in a triangles and are about 50 feet apart of each other and we all have our own 1 man flipover clam huts. Some people have no edicate what some ever if it's ice fish , river fishing, golf etc. We that have edicate have to tell them and hope they get the message and they move. But you should not move for them. We should just ignore them and just keep catching fish. That's my two cents. Be safe out there and have fun guys and gals.

A lot of people will drill a hole next to your pop up or hut because theyre trying to use your structure as a wind bluff. Not saying this is good or bad lol

I had a group of 3 set up 30 ft behind a rental hunt I was in. I had a single fisher rush over and drill 20 ft or less from me after seeing me catch fish. They seemed to have no idea it was a problem when confronted. Not coincidentally they originated from the same place. i'll leave it at that. If I don't know the people or not invited over, I stay away. The perch move around on flats anyways and it's a big lake

How close is too close? If I can hit ya with my rod that's too close! Because I might! Lol I have a shirt for soft water fishing that says-"if you can read this, your fishing too close!" Cheers!

Lol I need to get one of those shirts FSHN FRK. Wally Diver the red food coloring is idea is just awesome. I have always tried to keep a fair distance of a minimum of 75-100 feet when fishing for perch just out of respect (it's a big lake). I know nobody owns a spot but its just common courtesy. Thanks guys I didn't think that I was the only one that thought that guy was a total ######. The best part is that the guy just caught a bunch of dink's. I have to admit that put a smile on my face.
