I as you tie as much at home where it's warm and my fingers still work,Generally I rig two rods to make for a quick change up when the bite is on or lots of snag breakoffs. I will try the magnifying glass as that 4# floro is almost not there ,tweezers have worked well also especially for those "Tiny" beads as a weight stop..... Anyway all good info...See you out there

Thanx Gaston. I too also use a heavier line to see it & feel it. The lightest I use is 6 lb, yet I have younger friends who use 2lb for perch. I don't know how to use 2lb., can't see it or feel it!
Does the MNR issue handicapped permits for preferred spots on the ice??

I think they should consider preffered senior parking. I have a bad siatic nerve thing going on and it makes the walk down right painful.

The young guys walk past me like rockets.

Preferred senior parking would be a nice touch, although I believe I will never see it.

I just refuse to let age slow me down....

I do /have noticed everyone walking past me quite easiy though.

Also have been pre tying and swithcing to heavier lines to some degree

Only good thing is I sleep less during the night , but more during the day

TThe little gadget that threads the needle works fine, but it does not last, the wire loop splits. oterwise I do most of what you do and bring a few rods(10 ?) all ready to use. Can not change much when out on the ice. Old grouch.

A couple of very important items if you walk like me. A good walking staff and a good pair of cleats. I have found that many a time these two items have saved me and made the day so much more enjoyable.

And a younger lad to pull the sled (if you can get one out) and help to put up the pop-up. Oh yes the bring the bucket (you know the one).
