Sauna Cooking

Would have put this under recipes if I could figure out how, but it's not really a recipe, more a weird technique. I am Finn by heritage and as such like both fish and sauna. So today I wanted to have a sauna and needed too cook a trout fillet. So did both. Wrapped tightly in foil, placed on the sauna stove and when I was done, so was the trout.

That's on way of cooking a trout fillet, a little weird but if it works why not.....

Did you smell like fish when you got out of the sauna

Thankfully, no. Fish aroma was minimal. It's also an old time Finn tradition to smoke sausages in the sauna, but I have not tried this. I think it was many years ago when "savu sauna" or smoke sauna was more prevalent where there was no stove, just a pile of rocks in the corner with a wood fire underneath. Smoke was allowed to fill the sauna and it heated the room and the rocks and then was released before the people took the sauna. Used to burn a lot of sauna's down this way.
